Errors in the coordinates of the seismic data sources are unlimited, resulting in location shifts of few meters to few kilometers. Most of the coordinates’ inconsistency problems result from un-adopted geodetic parameters variations.
Each country has its geodetic system. Universal Geodetic System should be applied for the seismic lines for each area or zone. Verification of these coordinates and well location matching should follow the universal system for consistency and accuracy.
Accuracy can be achieved through mathematical transformation using special algorithms. Additionally, geodetic parameters are found for each set of data through physical field checks using modern geodetic techniques. The final product is a complete and matched coordinates of the related data sets.
